Armação de Búzios/RJ

Búzios from June to August is also a delight! The scorching sun and the crowds on the sands are gone, and a calmer and more peaceful beach resort is in store.

Around winter, the climate in the city is pleasant, with temperatures rarely dropping below 19° C. These days are marked by sunshine while the temperature is milder at night.

As the city of Búzios has a low rainfall rate, it is considered the lowest in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, winter is a period of little rain, which means a guaranteed beach!

Advantages of visiting Búzios close to winter?

Búzios doesn’t usually get rain, neither in summer nor in winter.

At this time of year, between June and August, the sun shines during the day, with a very pleasant climate on the beach.

The waters on the beaches of Búzios are cold most of the year.

However, in winter, the waters are less cold. The similarity between the air and sea water temperatures makes beach fun more enjoyable.

The good thing about visiting the city outside of summer is that there are not as many tourists traveling to Búzios and the beaches are much quieter.

If you go to the beach or take a walk outdoors…

  • Surfing (or learning how to) at Geribá Beach – One of the coolest things to do in Búzios is learning how to surf. Geribá is the liveliest beach with the longest stretch of sand and, consequently, the most activities. There are waves for those who already know how to surf, and for those who are just learning.
  • Trails: Búzios has many trails, such as the Serra das Emerências, and those that lead to Pai João and the natural pools of Ferradurinha. You can talk to the staff at Bamboo Hostel. They always organize these tours.
  • Azeda and Azedinha Beaches – Access is via Praia dos Ossos. The water is very calm and crystal clear and at this time of year it is less crowded (in the summer, however, unless you want to fight for space on the sand, forget about this stretch of beach).
  • Praia do Forno and Praia da Foca: Lovely. They are less crowded and have very calm seas.
  • Strolling along Ruas das Pedras and Orla Bardot – It’s a must. When the weather is cooler, take advantage of this beautiful and enjoyable walk.

At night

Although it gets a little cold at night, there are many cool activities to enjoy in the city.

Búzios is a place known for its festivals, its gastronomic diversity and its sports competitions. And it is precisely in the winter, in July, that the city hosts the Búzios Gastronomic Festival. This is a traditional event that takes place on several streets in the city, offering starters, main courses and desserts.

The month of August is characterized by the Sardine Festival and, also during the winter, the city hosts several sports events. (The dates of these may vary slightly).

In addition to these events, Búzios has hundreds of restaurants, bars and nightlife attractions available throughout the year. So you can eat well, enjoy the night however you like and try delicious dishes and drinks.

Eat Eat Eat …

Huna Bistrô is our restaurant here at Bamboo. It offers a beachfront experience and a beach bar with your feet in the sand.
The menu has a Hawaiian feel, with appetizers and main courses, mostly prepared with seafood. There are also some sandwich options and special appetizers with beef and chicken.
But the bistro’s highlight is the seafood platter – shrimp, squid, mussels and octopus, all very succulent, accompanied by a portion of rustic potatoes – in addition to a vast drinks menu with varied flavors and styles.
