And once again, we at Bamboo are going to shed some light on your experience in Búzios. We decided to create a buzz among you to find out what the best beaches on the peninsula are and to give you our opinion on the five best, based on our experience as locals for years.
So, let’s get started…
1. Praia Azeda
One of the most popular beaches in the region, not only because of its clear waters but also because it offers a complete experience, is Azeda Beach. In addition to its companion, Azedinha, which is also incredibly beautiful, it takes first place for having one of the best sunsets in the city and also the most famous staircase in the area. The marine life there is extremely rich and, let’s face it, it is the closest one on the list to our accommodation. From Bamboo, you can walk along the Bardot waterfront, taking the opportunity to say “hi” and take a picture with Brigite.
In short: One of the best sunsets in the city, amazing marine life, closer to Bamboo and also has a smaller beach that is just as beautiful.
2. João Fernandes
And now let’s talk about it, the tourists’ favorite, one of the most complete beaches in the region and only behind Azeda because of its distance from us, but we love it just as much. Talking about João Fernandes is like thinking about sooooo many attractions in one place. In our opinion, it stands out for the amount of things to do, as it also meets all the requirements of incredible sunsets, abundant marine life and clear waters. There you will find diving with statues, photos with little fish on the beach, two beautiful viewpoints, a thrilling walk along the rocks, etc. Oh, and there, too, as a bonus to “João Fernandinho” is a smaller and beautiful beach right next to it. You can also walk from Bamboo to there and there are also many stalls, dives, and beach clubs for all types of tastes and budgets. In other words, a day at João Fernandes can be compared to an amusement park.
3. Ferradurinha
You will be shocked, but Ferradura and Ferradurinha are not neighbors. It is next to Geribá, fourth place on the list (spoiler), but it is one of the most BEAUTIFUL beaches (I need to use this term in capital letters) because it really is. Yes, they are all beautiful, but we love the ones that are close to our house on Rua das Pedras the most. There is nothing better than walking to the beach, right!?
Ferradurinha deserves a deep sigh, the place is breathtaking. It is also more than a beach, it is a complete environment. There are many beautiful rocks there, including viewpoints and waterfalls when the tide is high.
It is next to Praia dos Amores and is perhaps the beach where most people practice diving, stand-up paddleboarding, pedal boats, and kayaking. Even though it has a small strip of sand, Ferradurinha stands out for having some of the most beautiful waters in the region, in addition to being a true spectacle of turtles. There are many, if you want to see turtles, this is the place to be.
4. Geribá
Now let’s talk about it, the beach of surfers, of the golden sunset – as we usually call it. Geribá is not so famous for nothing, it really offers beauty, sports, a wide stretch of sand, rocks, a jaw-dropping sunset and a wide variety of things to eat, drink, stalls to rent, etc. Geribá, in our opinion, is also the beach for families and diversity, right?! The best thing about it is watching the sun set from the sea, perhaps one of the most incredible experiences that Búzios has to offer and for free, right!? How can you not love it?
From Bamboo we took an Uber for less than R$10.00 or on days when we were feeling energetic, you could even walk, but every penny or step taken was worth it. It’s incredible. It comes in fourth place because it’s a place where we see less marine life and we are fish and turtle lovers, yes!!
5. Olho de Boi
It’s her turn, the last but not least important and not beautiful. Olho de Boi is a naturist beach, the trail is on the right side of Praia Brava. A favorite beach for the free-spirited crowd. It is desperately beautiful, from the water to the rocks that make up the landscape and, also, the trail that despite being a little tiring has a beautiful view of both Praia Brava and Olho de Boi itself. Every part of the trail to get there is worth it and exactly because of the trail we give it the fifth place, deservedly. We love this reserved and free corner of Búzios. If you like naturism, it is worth visiting.
Finally, it is obviously very difficult to choose the five best beaches among the more than twenty incredible beaches we have here, but we decided to take a chance. And you, what is your top 5? Remember that when you are in Búzios, get to know as much as you can, get all the tips on our Instagram @bamboobuzioshostel and come live an experience staying in the best location in the city: Rua das Pedras. Kisses and come experience life with us.
