Address

Rua das Pedras, 25 - Centro
Armação de Búzios/RJ

We at Bamboo Hostels know everything about Búzios, after all, we’ve been in control of this city for four years now.

So, we decided to give you a little help and recommend little-known spots that you’ll thank us for forever.

An incredible, little-explored place that you MUST visit when you come here is the PONTA DO PAI VITÓRIO TRAIL. This trail is ‘different’ because it has a view that is very similar to the Kelling King Beach island, a super famous tourist spot in Indonesia.

Who was Father Vitório?

Old residents tell two stories to justify the name “Pai Vitório”. What we know is that this was a landing site for Portuguese ships. So, some say that “Vitório” was the only survivor of a tragedy on a ship, ended up staying in the region and every time a ship arrived he would go up to the lookout to shine light and prevent other shipwrecks. The “father” comes from the miracles he performed in the region. However, there are those who disbelieve who say that this was just the name of one of the Portuguese ships. Since we at Bamboo are creators of great stories, we prefer to believe the first one: Pai Vitório was the only survivor of a shipwreck and performed many miracles in the region.

How do I get to this paradise?

So… The Pai Vitório viewpoint is located right between Mangue de Pedras and Praia Rasa. Don’t worry, I’ll explain! (lol). It’s 13.8 km from Bamboo to there. Google Maps will show you exactly how to get there. Just in case, we recommend that you charge your cell phone and use it to help you along the way. You can take a van, which costs only R$3.50, or a ride-hailing app, which won’t cost more than R$30.00 to Praia Rasa. Once there, take Antônio Batista Street and then turn right at the third street (it’s at number 19). There, you’ll find a sign indicating the viewpoint. Go straight ahead and you’ll come face to face with the access to the trail. After a ten-minute hike, you’ll be at one of the most stunning views the lakes region has to offer.

PAY ATTENTION, because at the end of the trail there’s a very discreet and closed entrance. Be careful not to go straight on.

It seems difficult, but we have left everything in detail in case you need to check it out and of course, if you need to, look for one of our employees and get more information.

O Mirante:

Now let’s get to the good part… Arriving at Ponta do Pai Vitório, you feel like you’re looking at paradise: hills, vegetation, open sea, blue sky and the unmistakable climate of Búzios make this place a must-see. It’s worth the walk and the photos will certainly make many people envious. Besides, if you say you were in Indonesia, no one will be able to deny it.

Special care:
  • Even if we are young (regardless of age) we need to take some precautions:
  • The viewpoint is narrow, so walk carefully on the trail, do not take children or people with physical difficulties;
  • It is not busy, take water and snacks because even though it is a quiet trail you are likely to get hungry and not find anything to buy;
  • You can wear flip-flops, but it’s better to wear sneakers to be more comfortable and enjoy it more.
Last and most important tip:
  • Be careful not to fall in love too much, many people visit and never want to leave (lol)Cuidado para não se apaixonar além da conta, muitas pessoas visitam e nunca mais querem ir embora (rsrsrs)

A kiss and come live a unique experience at Bamboo.
