B\u00fazios is a wonderful peninsula full of things to do and see even when it\u2019s sunny. But what if the weather changes and it starts to rain heavily in the middle of your vacation? Don\u2019t worry, we\u2019ve put together 9 tips for you to enjoy Brazil\u2019s most charming peninsula even on rainy days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Porto da Barra<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A large and charming cluster of restaurants, bars and cafes, combined with the most beautiful sunset on the peninsula, this is the famous Porto Barra. Located in Manguinhos, this place has a romantic and bucolic atmosphere, perfect for strolls with your loved one or with the family and with the right to lots of photos. We suggest going around 4:30 pm, when the sun begins to set on the horizon. There is nothing better to end your day in B\u00fazios with a flourish.<\/p>\n

2. Churches<\/strong><\/h5>\n

  • Church of Sant\u2019Ana<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The oldest church on the peninsula, built in 1740, is located between Praia dos Ossos and Praia da Arma\u00e7\u00e3o, and is dedicated to the city’s patron saint, Santa Ana, and is located on top of Sant’Ana hill. The church is open as usual, with masses held every week.<\/p>\n

    • \u200b Church of Saint Rita of Cascia<\/span>I<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      With a beautiful garden outside, the city’s main church is located in the Manguinhos neighborhood and has beautiful decoration and exuberant stained glass windows and mosaics. It can accommodate up to 400 people.<\/p>\n

      • \u200bChurch of Our Lady Undoer of Knots<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Located in the same courtyard as the Church of Santa Rita de C\u00e1ssia, it is a small chapel compared to the other churches in B\u00fazios. It has only 33 seats, in reference to the age of Jesus Christ. It is the first chapel dedicated to this devotion in the world, and has even received the blessing of Pope John Paul II.<\/p>\n

        • Methodist Church of Bones<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Located in the Ossos neighborhood, it was built in 1936. With a simple facade, it still operates today, with weekly services<\/p>\n

          • \u200bAssembly of God of Rua das Pedras<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Located right in the center of Rua das Pedras, the most interesting thing about this traditional Pentecostal church is the contrast with the glamorous shops and restaurants around it. It was built in 1932 and has weekly services.<\/p>\n

            3. Dive<\/strong><\/h5>\n

            If you are looking for new adventures, scuba diving is a good choice! B\u00fazios is a reference for diving, due to its crystal clear waters and unique fauna and flora. The presence of cold ocean currents coming from the south bringing rich nutrients attracts entire schools of fish, rays and many turtles, which are already a common animal to be seen there.<\/p>\n

            And rain, contrary to what many people think, hardly affects visibility, so if the weather forecast is for rain, don’t despair, you can still have a great dive!<\/p>\n

            4. Car tour<\/strong><\/h5>\n

            (Azeda, Mirante Joao Fernandes, Mirante Brava, Mirante Forno, Ponta da Lagoinha, Mirante Ferradura)<\/p>\n

            A great idea is to take a car tour around the entire peninsula along the coast. Along the way, you will discover hidden beaches and incredible views and peaks! Starting at Orla Bardot, passing through the calm beaches of Ossos, Azeda and Azedinha, Joao Fernandes and Fernandinho, arriving at Praia Brava, Forno and Foca and finally Praia da Ferradura. And of course, the viewpoints along the way are not left out, from where you have a 360-degree view of the city.<\/p>\n

            5. The city’s traditional restaurants<\/strong><\/h5>\n

            Taking a gastronomic tour is always a good idea, and B\u00fazios is full of good, traditional restaurants for all tastes. In addition to the city’s classic seafood cuisine, here you can also find many pizzerias, steakhouses, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, creperies and everything else you can imagine. We know that B\u00fazios is heavily influenced by our Argentine brothers and this is also evident in the cuisine, with many burger and empanade shops, you can travel to Argentina with just a few bites.<\/p>\n
